Why does distilled water taste different than bottled water?
Bottled water has minerals for flavor. We are used to tasting "something" in water. Distilled water has a clean, pure taste because it has nothing else in it but pure water.
Does distilled water leach minerals from the body?
No scientific data exists proving this harmful leaching.
Distilled water helps rid the body of unusable and potentially harmful minerals that can't be used by the cells. (Minerals that our cells can utilize are derived from organic sources found in food.)

How do I insure pure results every time?
The cleanest possible water should be fed in the still. Decant turbid water, filter silted water, melt the snow, remove the sand, etc.
Do not use rubber or plastic hoses, as they leach heavily into the water. Pure water collection should be done with silicone or poly butylene tubing.
Quality materials should be used. Best is material approved for drinking water. This material will have to be used for a while before it is cured and does not leach contaminants into the water. A carbon filter helps remove the "new" taste for the first few weeks of use.
Reminder: Don't contaminate your pure distilled water with impure ice cubes. If you hook up to the water dispenser of your refrigerator, make sure you're also hooking up to the ice cube dispenser. Otherwise, ice cubes will be made with tap water, and your drink will contain impurities.
What are the benefits of using silicone in the distilling process?
Silicone:
is USDA approved
won't leach into water after the curing period
is extremely durable
is heat resistant over years
is easy to use
is easy to patch up and repair
Explain curing.
We start the curing process right after manufacturing. The stills are stored in hot sheds for a few weeks to thoroughly dry and cure the silicone. Then, the glass is installed.
When first in use, the product water is discarded for two to three weeks, or until any taste is gone. The taste comes from the new materials absorbed by the polarized distilled water. As water runs through the system, the taste is gradually rinsed away as the still breaks itself in.
How long does it take new stills to develop streaking water?
Newly functioning stills take a few days to develop water streaking. Sun Cleara compound facilitating water running down the inside of the glass as it condenseshelps. The inside of the glass is streaked with Sun Clear. As the still breaks itself in, "Sun Clear" is rinsed away, and the water keeps running down the inside of the glass to the collecting tray, without falling back in the still.
If "foggy" conditions appear on the inside of the glass, streaking is not occurring, and the still's output is reduced. As a solution to this, the glass is removed, cleaned thoroughly, re-coated with Sun Clear, and re-siliconed in place.
Do you offer automated systems?
Yes. For no-hassle operation, we can supply a system that will automatically flush and fill your still every evening. Automated stills also collect the pure water and dispense it to the location of your choice.
What does the automated system include?
The system includes the still of your choice, a timer and solenoid valve for automatic flush/fill capability, a 15 gals poly resin food-grade, pure-water reservoir, an on demand pump, a stainless steel faucet for water dispensing, and 15 ft of silicone tubing. (Can be custom made.)
Can automated systems be custom made to fit my needs?
Yes. Other reservoir sizes are available and several timing devices are obtainable, varying in cost and durability. Electric equipment can be supplied in 110V or 220V, AC or DC (grid or solar).
How much does an automated system cost?
Since automated systems can be custom made to suit your needs, the price of the system depends on distiller model and size, and is of course related to the quality of the equipment requested.
Is there any guarantee on the automated system?
Yes. There is a manufacturer's guarantee on auto system.

Distilled water and minerals
"Now as to the argument that distilled water leaches out minerals. This is true, and this is exactly what we want it to do. The minerals it leaches out are of the unusable, ionic form and we want these to leave the body rather than be deposited and cause disease."1

Distilled water and mineral deficiency
"The minerals which the human body needs that are in the water are insignificant to those in food... and anyone simply eating a varied diet, not even a balanced diet, could hardly suffer a mineral deficiency."2
Distilled water and the body
"The only minerals that the body can utilize are the organic minerals. All other types of minerals are foreign substances to the body and must be eliminated. Distilled water is the only water that can be taken into the body without any damage to the tissues."3
